Question:
I’m just wondering, and this isn’t meant to be some hateful question or anything. Did you ever hear a counter argument against evolution as you were growing up through the school system, or was it always taught as 100% truth? I could literally pull up many websites, books, and other resources that dispute the claims of evolution within minutes. I’m not saying that the counter arguments are right, but I think it’s a little odd that these are rarely, if ever, addressed in the school system. Shouldn’t the students be told about this, instead of it being ‘hidden’ away?
1ofU: That has nothing to do with the disputing of the evolutionary theory, and is a completely faulty analogy to what I’m trying to say.

Question:
This question is keyed toward Earth Science classes & teachers. I am interested in your classes’ ideas.

Visiting my barber today, I made an observation that not only made her laugh, but might potentially solve any more oil spills like the Exxon / Valdez situation of recent media outcry.
She made the comment of the natural tendency for hair to absorb oils. Myself staying ON THE cognitive BALL, while she was cleaning up my cut hair from the floor, I commented on the possibility of using large amounts of cut hair from hair salons to absorb oil spills.
Is this a potential possibility? – I am sure that the vast amount of HAIR to accomplish this task is massive, but is it possible?
I have been “thinking a bit far outside of the proverbial box”……. but to me, this is so very comfortable.
*Just imagine the windfall for recycling this “disposable” resource!
Thanks for your / your students’ replies.
