I am accepting an 8th grade special ed position as resource room teacher. I have spec/ed cert as well as english/social studies add-ons. Any tips regarding what I should focus upon right now before the year starts?
Also (maybe separate question), the principal hired me over objections of spec coord, who did not like my priv school exp. Any tips for gaining her trust/confidence when I am fairly new to PS teaching?

Hi, tomorrow I am going around town 2 put up flyers about my Open House this Sat 4 selling Discovery Toys which R EXCELLENT toys. This may sound “rude”, but where do parents frequent that I could put them up, I’m a grandma now, & have forgotten, but also where would grandma’s see it too ? Also, Dr’s & lawyers wives R often interested in these so where might they frequent that I might not think of. I live in a smallish town in So OR where we have these levels of people: 1). MANY folks are minimum wage as we lost R timber industry ..2). new & plentiful retirees with financial resources who would buy 4 grand kids, 3). & our professional people who could afford them. I am a recently retired elem teacher & have lived here 4, 32 years. So I have a good reputation for ed. stuff & also am the only person selling these within 200 miles of me. I have a web site which is on the catalogs & my other contact info, what I’m really looking for is ideas to put flyers and ways to contact.

I live in Alaska so teachers and resources are slim. I’m wanting to live and travel abroad, And i need to know enough of the language to keep myself out of trouble. I’m wanting to learn Scottish Gaelic, Italian, Greek, Spanish, French, Dutch, and maybe anything else. But I need to pick one to start out with. I’m totally willing to drop the scottish Gaelic though. Which one do you think i should start with? Any suggestions? Tips? anything that will help.
I want to go to Italy, Spain, Greece, Scotland, England, The Falkland Islands, Brazil, Argentina, i’m not totally sure, i just want to go everywhere but Africa, Russia, most asian countries. I have nothing against any of them, they just aren’t on the top of my list to go live/work in.

Hi, I’m a 6th grade Literature teacher at a new school. The school has old 2001 Prentice Hall Copper Level Texas Editions. I have the Teacher’s Edition but not any of the other resource materials. I am trying to find the “Celebrating Texas Literature” Unit Test online without any luck. Does anyone know where online I can find this test or have this test they can email to me? I went to school to become a special ed teacher, but did that for two years and recently resigned from my position. I still want to work with individuals (preferably children/teens) with disabilities, but not in a school setting. I used to work for a special rec assosiation, but want something full time and can’t find any full time positions available in my area. I would be really interested in doing event planning, program coordination, inclusion facilitation, etc. Does anyone know of any resources I can use to help me find available positions in this area of work? I live near Chicago. Are there any national agencies that I should try? I tried Best Buddies, but they didn’t have anything, and I’m not that familiar with others. Please help, I’m excited to start a new job but can’t seem to locate the type of position I am looking for.

I’m an EFL teacher in Mexico I love my job and although my students have very limited economical resources they’re very dedicated and commited to their English lessons Most of my students can’t afford buying this book. If I could find a way of getting ESL or EFL material for them it would be of much help

She is the most wonderful person, a teacher, new auntie, and best friend. Her name is April. I live 500 miles away from her and need all the support I can get. I have a new baby and can’t get out much for support groups. She was moved from home hospice to a care facility today and is fading slowly but surely. I miss her already and can barely deal being this far away.
Please help suggest anything you think might help me and my family get through this time. I feel like I am caught between heaven and hell.
Also, if you have a younger (or older) sister–you might want to give her an extra big hug tonight.
