I dont know if this question was asked before, but my friend and I today argued who killed the most people, I ended the argument by saying believe in what you believe and I believe in what I believe and he said whatever stupid, dont get mad just because im right, we were arguing about who kiled the most, he said Hitler killed the most, but I said Stalin or Mao did, I know this because my History teacher told me and 2 of my other friends still said hitler killed more, am I right that Stalin killed more people than Hitler, and who do you think killed the most people, can you also give me your resources so I can show it to them, Thanks

I’m a girl. I have facial and physical features that are considered very feminine but I have mental traits and interests that are stereotypically masculine-technical and systematic and less touchy-feely. I don’t feel naturally sympathetic. I mean, I act sweet to people and paste a fake grin on my face but I’d rather do stuff like fish, play games, read and do hobbies than sit around and giggle, hold hands and shop at the mall. I just feel like I think more like a guy and they seem more interested in what I have to say. I also like satire and irony which girls don’t seem to get. Girls really don’t seem as interested, if I want to have a deep conversation they just pretend to be interested even though I can tell they’re bored. I’m pursuing majors and minors in Natural Resources, Language, History, and Philosophy whereas most girls seem to want to be nurses, teachers and counselors.
Question:
I’m doing an essay about the impact of geography on history and for the Modern World section I want to state that geography had an effect on the current environmental “crisis”. My argument is that because of things like abundant natural resources, they were depleted, and because of a regions physical landscape, things like deforestation were caused because there was not enough arable land. I might also be able to make the claim that because the climate in certain areas is sunny and windy, it led to the usage of solar panels and wind energy. If you think I can support my claims at least slightly, then please post a comment, and if you have suggestions or anything. And just a another bit of information; I’m a freshman in high school but my history teacher grades like a college professor.

I teach science in middle school. At my school every teacher has to teach 4 classes in their subject and an additional class in another subject. For me, I have taught 4 science classes and 1 math class over the past 15 years. However, due to programming changes I will be forced to teach one class of US History next school year.
I don’t really like any type of history but especially not U.S. History. Politically I am extremely to the left and I have a pretty much socialist ideology. I disagree with so many of our country’s policies both past and present. I don’t like capitalism. I don’t like religion. I don’t like war. Well, you get the picture.
I have told my principal all of this and he has told me to just follow the book and go through the motions. But that is going to be a very boring 45 minutes every day. How can I survive the school year? How can I be sure my students learn the facts? Are there any resources I can use to teach my class from left of center?

Why do people on YA use Wikipedia as an authoritative source for history questions? From my experience, most (not all) of the articles are inaccurate or incomplete. For most of the questions asked, a simple web search will give you several, reliable and resources that can be cited for a paper (unless I’m mistaken, most teachers won’t accept wikipedia as a source).

yes. I do know that there is a M.A.C.K lab teacher that comes out and helps but she/he is not around all the time.
This is not the only thing that is the mate. I have projects that are 1 too 2 week long, projects in class that I am still going to have to learn and I’m going to be way behind on, more thin I already am.
Examples: ( photography required me to create and Chang photos on the photoshop version on the computer in my photograph teachers lab.)- this is just one of mine things I am behind on. Thar is no after school for this class. or at lunch.
another example in computer graphic design I am really behind. having to edit and cut stuff out on programs that are only instead on Mr. Odars computers- and once again their will and can not be any after school for this class.
My final example even though I cud come up with a whole lot more is in dr.Petti wood shop class. We have to cut wood.

My topic of choice is “Are we too dependent on computers and technology?”
I already have a few articles that relate to this, but I need more information about my topic. That’s it,I took a decision – I’m becoming a geographer!I want to study the wonderful science of geometry!Today we had a remarkable lesson!The teacher was speaking about the far away country called Russia.I knew a lot about this wild country anyway.For instance everybody knows perfectly well that Russians are hybrids between people and bears,they eat alcohol and birch-branches,they live in deep holes in the taiga and on holidays they set the Kremlin on fire and dance kasatchok around it.After the lesson I probably know about Russia even more than its natives do.In that country there are American resources of petroleum and gas.Whenever we need them we can go there and get them.Besides in Russia there are sites of caviar and also mines of Vodka and pelmeni.Russians waste these natural resources in a barbarous way:they eat and drink them at expense of the future american generations.A true empire of the evil!
